The Triptych + Los Angeles Premiere + Encore Screenings in NYC and Bay Area

With six film festivals screening AN OVERSIMPLIFICATION OF HER BEAUTY in just four weeks, April was by far one of the busiest months for the team. We continue to receive heartfelt feedback from supporters like you and positive reviews. Here’s just a quick rundown of what’s to come including the premiere of director Terence Nance’s short-film series THE TRIPTYCH taking place at the Brooklyn Museum this Thursday, May 24th.THE TRIPTYCH is a unique and profound documentary series, profiling some of the most outspoken visual artists of our time. Produced by AFROPUNK pictures, the documentary is itself a work of art, featuring three intimate 20-minute conversations with three bold and culturally resonant voices Sanford Biggers, Wangechi Mutu, andBarron Claiborne. Each piece is a reflection on the artists’ respective life experiences, letting the viewer discover how those observations have shaped the art they create. As space is limited, advance purchase of nonrefundable tickets for general admission and a reserved seat at the screening is recommended via

Terence then flies back to the West coast to participate in this year’s LA Film Fest Filmmaker Retreat before representing the film at the 2012 Los Angeles Film Festival – our LA premiere! Now, for those who missed out on the Bay Area and NYC premieres – no worries! AN OVERSIMPLIFICATION heads to Oakland, CA for theOakland Innovation Film Lab on June 20th.
